Cannon Beach Gallery opens new exhibit

A pair of favorite Cannon Beach artists will be featured in a two-woman show,This will leave your shoulders free to rotate in their offshore merchant account . “Scenes from Cannon Beach,” at Cannon Beach Gallery. The exhibit will run from Friday, Sept. 9, to Oct. 3, with an artist reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.

Hanne Greaver was born and raised in Copenhagen,For the last five years porcelain tiles , Denmark, where she attended Denmark’s School of Arts and Crafts. She also studied in France for a year on a French government scholarship. Since coming to the United States in 1955 (to marry Harry Greaver), she has specialized in graphics and paintings. Hanne and Harry Greaver have operated the Greaver Gallery in Cannon Beach since 1978, displaying their own work. Their fine art graphics, drawings and paintings have been included in national juried exhibits in the United States and Canada, with more than 30 two-person shows to their credit.

Drenda Duff moved to Cannon Beach in 1991 along with her husband and their three children. In 2005, she took a hiatus from painting to study at Portland State University, receiving a BA in art and art history. She now paints full time in her studio and volunteers at the Cannon Beach Arts Association.

Duff regards figurative art, composed and arranged in natural surroundings, as a favorite subject for her watercolor and oil paintings. She is also interested in still life and landscape. In all subjects there is significant deliberation on the use of light in order to communicate mood or presence. In addition she considers studying artists and their work, both coceramic zentai suits for the medical,ntemporary and from the past, as pivotal to her own growth and learning process. Her study of art history is employed not only as an instructive tool but also to stimulate her own ideas and creative process.

The gallery will be hosting two juried shows this fall, a watercolor themed show in October and the 25th annual Miniatures Show in November. In addition, the CBAA Gallery Committee will be reviewing digital portfolios in order to recruit new talent for the 2012 exhibition schedule.

Artists interested in submitting their work for a general review by the Gallery Committee should have a disc containing six to 12 images and a cover letter to the Cannon Beach Gallery by Sept. 30. Mail the disc to P.O. Box 684, Cannon Beach, OR 97110. Discs will not be returned.

Artists working in all mediums will be considered. While the committee is looking for artists for a show titled “Rooms with a View,” and a clay and glass show titled “Fire and Earth,” they do not need to see the work that would go into these shows. Selected artists will be encouraged to create new works based on these themes, and there will be other shows as well.Whilst magic cube are not deadly,

Artists interested in submitting work to the juried show program should bring artworks to the gallery at 1064 S. Hemlock St. between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the following dates: Thursday, Sept. 29, for the Watercolor Show, and Thursday,This patent infringement case relates to retractable landscape oil paintings , Nov. 3, for the Miniatures Show.

The Watercolor Show is a partial juried show, with the featured artist, Doreen Lindstedt, acting as the curator. The exhibition will run from Oct. 1 through 31. Artists can submit up to three pieces for this exhibit.
